Born in 1980, Laurent Pernot lives and works in Paris. Graduated from the University and from Le Fresnoy national studio of contemporary arts, Laurent Pernot travels round the world with a series of exhibitions and residences.
By employing photography, digital images, sound and installations, Laurent Pernot experiments a variety of temporal, poetic and immersive processes.
His work focuses on the deep ambiguities of existence, and has always been influenced by the possible slippings occurring between scientific and philosophic concepts, specially the ones that deal with human consciousness and life properties. From the visible to the invisible, the imaginary of science and history provides the artist with some of his permanent topics: time and identity, memory and disappearances.
The exhibition space as well as the relationship to the viewer are also significants.
